Certified Forklift Training Center takes pride in the fact that our programs are designed to promote participation by the operator trainees. This is basic forklift 101!
New operator candidates are introduced to the equipment, its capabilities and limitations. The course then progresses to the Stability Dynamics of the forklift in relation to motion (up, down, backward and forward), providing yet another concept to be understood which is Flipping and Tipping. After reviewing some of the basic causes of forklift tip-overs and roll-overs, we address the Car, the Forklift, and the Moment. Not knowing could lead to a "moment" you may never forget. Hindsight may be 20-20 but without foresight, a relatively easy task could become a nightmare! Situational Awareness and Hazard Recognition training demonstrate the need for operators to think and consider alternatives to what they perceive as a potentially dangerous situation.
Having absorbed all of the information provided in basic forklift training, it's time to learn how this wealth of information relates to O.S.H.A. Rules of Operation #3664. We call this our "MemReminder" program which is a plain English translation of what O.S.H.A. says and what O.S.H.A. is trying to say. Once completed, the trainees are now prepared for the written examination. Upon passing of written exam with 70% or better trainees then start hands on training, including pre-operational inspection, basic operation of the forklift, forward and reverse driving, obstacle course.
